On hygiene
Robes, towels, and herbs are replaced for each guest, and the seating and any surfaces that touch skin are cleaned after every session. We ventilate the room to keep the space comfortable and fresh.
HERBAL STEAM
What is herbal steam?
Herbal steam (薬草蒸し) is a traditional Japanese warming practice where steam from simmered medicinal herbs is directed around the body. At KaFu, we use authentic yachimun ceramic seating crafted by Okinawan artisans, filled with Okinawa-grown mugwort (yomogi).
A gentle ritual for quiet days, tender times, fatigue, and feeling the cold. Come as you are.

CRAFTSMANSHIP
Seating that wishes for
good fortune and a good wind.
The seating used in KaFu's herbal steam is yachimun handmade by Ikumi Kakazu, a potter based in Itoman, Okinawa. Carved into it is a motif of kuba, a plant long woven into Okinawan daily life, expressing a wish for good fortune and a good wind.

· Please stay hydrated before and after your session, and there's no need to stay longer than feels comfortable
· The temperature can be adjusted to suit how you're feeling
· Herbal steam is not a medical treatment and does not make specific claims about therapeutic effects
· Your reservation is confirmed once we send a confirmation email after checking availability. Payment is made using the method described in that email
